Earning top recognition for her artistic talent and creativity, Madison Meyers, now a freshman at Western Plains High School, took home first place in the Class IV Poppy Poster Contest — not just at the district level, but at the state level for Kansas too!
Madison’s poster first wowed judges at the District American Legion Auxiliary Contest, earning her the top spot and sending her artwork on to compete statewide. There, her powerful design once again rose above the rest, capturing first place in the Kansas Class IV Poppy Poster Contest.
The Poppy Poster Contest, sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, encourages students to honor and remember the sacrifices of U.S. veterans through original art. Madison’s winning piece beautifully captured that spirit — blending creativity, respect, and heartfelt meaning.
Everyone at Western Plains is so proud of Madison for this incredible accomplishment. Way to go, Madi — you’ve made the Bobcat community proud!
