Buffington, Flax earn all-league basketball honors

Western Plains High School is pleased to announce that two Bobcat basketball players have recently earned all-league basketball honors.

Seniors Bryan Buffington and Carlee Flax were each named to the Western Kansas Liberty League all-league teams. Buffington was awarded 2nd Team honors, while Flax earned Honorable Mention.

Buffington and Flax both had stand-out seasons for their respective teams, putting up impressive numbers in all stat categories including points per game and rebounds per game.

The WKLL All League teams consist of six first team selections and six second team selections. Those players who receive votes from at least three coaches, but do not qualify as first or second team selections are awarded honorable mention recognition.

Buffington is the son of Douglas and Billie Stanley and was head coached by Jeff Jones.  Flax is the daughter of Melanie Menning and Kevin Flax and was head coached by Douglas Stanley.

Congratulations to both of these fine young athletes on a well-deserved honor!
