Junior high, high school basketball seasons are underway

As fall sports come to a close winter sports are gearing up to start and have in fact begun. This year there is going to be a great turn out for both girls and boys high school basketball. Again this year, Western Plains and Healy are in a cooperative agreement for the basketball seasons.

For girls basketball the players and coaches are looking forward to a rewarding season. The coaches for this year’s team are Amy Schmidt, Pat Flax, and Jeff Jones. The coaches are looking forward to building on from last season and continuing to grow as a team.

Boys basketball is starting from where they left off last year and are trying continue grow as a successful team.

This year’s team is being coached by Charles Packard and Skylar Cantrell. Both of the coaches are looking forward to having a successful season and improve the skills of the team.

The first game of the season for WPH is at Ransom against the Logan Trojans on November 30, 2018. The annual alumni scrimmage is on November 24, 2018 at Ransom.

As winter sports starting up we hope that athletes practice hard and have a successful season. Good luck to both WPH high school basketball teams.
